AN AHISKA STORY is a story of exiled lives.
The main character of the script is Gülbahar, a young woman who grew up in the
Soviet Union and Türkiye.She is an old woman whose relatives stayed on the
Meskhetian side after the borders were divided between the two countries, while
her relatives stayed on the Turkish side. Gülbahar’s younger son Enver used to
visit with his uncle when he came from Meskhetia. And the last time he went, the
Red Army took the borders under strict control overnight. And Enver never saw
his mother again. In our story we see Gülbahar as an old woman. Waiting for her
son she didn’t give up.
