Onur Bilmen

Onur Bilmen is a Turkish filmmaker specializing in short films, working as a director, screenwriter, and sound designer. His notable works include "I am Rain" (2023) and "Love is (for the) Hopeless" (2023), where he served as both director and writer. Bilmen has also contributed as a sound designer to projects like "Violet" (2021) and "Breathless" (2020). His work has earned him several awards, including the Bronze Award at the Independent-Star Filmfest 2024.

I started as a freelancer in the musicproduction field. In that time i´ve found interest in sound design, so I started studying "Screenplay writing" in Darmstadt. I´ ve decided to continue studying in Mainz to be a media designer, to develop my technical skills. I am currently working at a german television channel and I am producing two short films a year.
